Bihar Intermediate Exam 2014 from 15th February


Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the dates for 2014 intermediate examination. The exam will commence on 15th February and will conclude on 28th February. The practical exam for the various subjects will start from 18th March and will conclude on 28th March. It is expected that close to 10 Lakh candidates will give the intermediate exam. The board will take exam at 750 examination center spread across the state. The form for the intermediate examination will be available soon. The result will be declared by the second week of May 2014. The board wants to declare the result before commencing of the next Lok Sabha general election. The board has done away with the use of OMR sheet in intermediate exam from this year. Instead of marking the OMR, student will now have to write answers in the answer booklet provided. There will be four type of questions each carrying different marks which has to be answered within the prescribed word limit. The questions will be of 1 marker(very short answer type question), 2 marker(short answer type question), 3 marker (based on knowledge/understanding) and 5 markers (long answer type question) with word limits enhancing in that order.

In order to allay the fear of new question pattern among the students, the board has put model question papers of each paper of Science and Commerce stream on its website. There are 100 questions each of 1 marker, 2 marker, 3 marker and 5 marker on any particular paper. Students are requested to familiarize themselves with the new pattern by visiting the board website.
