BPSC Combined Exam recruitment excites students


Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has invited applications for various posts of the 56th, 57th, 58th and 59th Common Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination from the eligible candidates. The common recruitment after few years has sent a wave of excitement among the student fraternity across the state. The atmosphere was abuzz with the examination talk on Ashok Rajpath which is dominated by the colleges of Patna University. This common recruitment has given relief to thousands of aspirants who are preparing for the civil services examination in the city. There is vacancy of 746 seats across 22 posts. It includes 100 seats of Bihar Administrative Service and 121 seats of Bihar Police Services among others. The applications are being sold through the authorized post offices across the state from 2nd September till 15th October. The filled application has to be submitted to the same post office from where it has been purchased before 5 PM on 15th October 2014. The following post offices in Patna are selling the application form :

  • Patna GPO
  • Bankipur HO
  • Patna University SO
  • Patna City SO
  • L B S Nagar SO

Application Form cost : Rs 175 for SC and ST of Bihar; Rs 400 for others.

The absence of online form filling has caused much confusion among the students. The buying and submission of the application form from the same post office is being viewed by the students as a wastage of time. There is also no mention of the date of the preliminary examination as well as that of Mains examination. There is no mention of Mains pattern and syllabus in the advertisement which is causing some confusion among students. However, students are gearing up for the preparation of preliminary examination which will be held in the coming month. The preliminary exam consists of 150 objective type questions.
