Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Patna is an extension campus of the BIT, Mesra, Ranchi, established in 2006 at Patna by the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Institute and the State Government in 2005. It is one of the 10 campuses of BIT spread across the Nation and abroad. The first batch in B.E. started with student taking admission in three branches- Computer Science, Electronic and Communication, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
The Institute is affiliated to All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Currently, if offer B.E. degree in seven courses, which are as follow :

- Information Technology
- Mechanical Engineering
- Production Engineering
It has also started undergraduate architecture program B.Arch. from 2012. The admission to the undergraduate courses are done through BIT counselling based on All India Rank in AIEEE. The campus is situated in area of 25 acres, having built-up area of 5.25 lacs sq. ft., near Patna airport, off the Bailey road. It has academic blocks, hostels accommodation for 1200 students and residential facilities for staff, dispensary, playground, gymnasium, and a guest house. The class rooms are spacious and the campus is Wi-Fi for accessing the internet facilities. The campus has 3 boys hostel and 1 girls hostel. There is also transportation facility provided for the student living outside the campus. The institute organizes different co-curricular activities throughout the year. The campus placement is done with the support of Main campus. The student has got placement in multinational companies. The campus also is a hub for placement of students from BIT Deoghar and BIT Allahabad.
How to reach :
It is situated in Sheikhpura, off the Bailey road. Patna airport lies on one side of it and Bihar Veterinary College on the other side. It is easily reachable by autos.
