Very soon, the student of three Kendriya Vidyalayas of the city will shed their traditional navy blue and white uniforms and switch to a new uniform designed by NIFT. From July, all KVs across the nation will have a new dress, to mark the golden jubilee year of KV. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has decided to replace simplicity with designer sensibility. The new uniform is a blue-grey-white-red checked uniform with red highlights and grey trousers, skirts or pants. After months of discussion on fabric, color and cut, NIFT presented a few choices to the board of governors of KV Sangathan, out of which the above dress was picked. New students were asked not to stitch new uniforms, while existing students have been given a year to make the change.
