A couple of new trains and extension of one train is all that is for Patna in this budget. However, the passengers fares and freight rates has not being increased. Overall, 17 new premium trains, 39 express trains and ten passengers trains has been announced. The introduction of the premium trains for particular destinations has been taken after survey. Differential rate of fares will be applicable for these trains. The base price will be that of Rajdhani Express with prices going upward as per demand as is applicable in air-fares.

The premium trains, named as Jai Hind Trains, that has been introduced for Patna are :

  • Patna - Mumbai AC Express (Bi-weekly) via Manikpur, Itarsi, Khandwa
  • Patna - Bangalore Express (Weekly) via Mughalsarai, Chheoki, Manikpur, Nagpur

Patna did not get any new train for the following categories :

  • Express Trains
  • Passenger Trains
  • MEMU trains

Extension of trains :

  • 15281/15282 Patna - Saharsa Express to Murliganj
